Iranian short ‘Azadeh’ to vie in the UK

Iran’s ‘Azadeh’ is to compete at the 16th Kinofilm Festival in the UK.

Iranian short ‘Azadeh’ has been selected to compete at the 16th Kinofilm & Manchester International Film Festival in the UK.

The 10-minute flick tells the story of a little girl who wants to meet her father for the last time, but her mother and brother don’t let her.

Amir-Hossein Beiranvand, Mahdieh Ahmadi-Rad, Masoumeh Korkizad, and Alireza Baharvand have appeared in ‘Azadeh’.

The film has won honors such as the best short feature award at the 41st UNCIPAR international short film festival in Argentina.

Among Iran representatives at this edition of the Kinofilm are ‘The Feast of the Goat’ by Saeed Zamanian, ‘Umbra’ by Saeed Jafarian, ‘Flying Fishes’ by Mohammad Towrivarian, ‘Starvation’ by Zahra Rostampour, ‘Cleaner’ by Mohammad-Reza Meyqani, ‘Dissect’ by Siavash Shahabi, and ‘Watch Me’ by Reza Mehranfar.

The Kinofilm fest celebrates the talents of emerging and established filmmakers.

The fest is famous for showcasing the best short films and debut features from around the world.

The 16th Kinofilm is slated for February 24–March 1, 2020.
